Parking Lot Signs and Parking Violations

Parking is an act of stopping a vehicle and leaves it unoccupied for more than a concise time. Parking facilities include both indoor and outdoor private property belonging to a house and on the side of the road.

Parking a motor vehicle in a restricted area or parking in an unauthorized manner lead to parking violation. It is against the law to park a vehicle any where on the road or highway. However, Parking is permissible on both sides of the road but with certain restrictions.

Parking violation includes:

  • Parking in a prohibited space such as a bus stop or in front of a fire hydrant.

  • Parking in or too close to or within a street crossing, railroad crossing or crosswalk.
  • Double parking.
  • Parking in a handicapped zone without an appropriate permit.
  • Parking on certain streets in a snow emergency when streets need to be plowed of snow.
  • Parking at locations during posted construction or maintenance operations.
  • Parking outside marked squares, for example angle parking where only parallel parking is allowed and so on.

There are various parking lot signs that assist you in parking a vehicle properly without breaking any law.

  • Handicap parking signs: Handicapped Signage is used to mark the area or location which is reserved for the disability person.
  • Private parking signs: Restricted area signs that indicate parking area reserve for private use only. Such parking areas are used by business organizations, hospitals, schools and private buildings.
  • No Parking Signs: No parking sign to indicate areas that it is not safe to park your car. Erect no parking signs in places that we do not want anybody to park in ever, such as fire lanes, hospital loading zones and especially narrow streets.
  • Parking Permits Signs: Reserve the parking area for people with special parking permit. Parking permit signs are important for establishing direction for all visitors and ensuring that those who have obtained permits get the spot they paid for.
